On Friday, the owner of a gym in eastern India’s Jharkhand state, where a fire killed seven people in May, said she wanted to reopen.
Gopinath Mehta said he planned to reopen the gym in July after a fire in June destroyed most of its gym floors.
The fire destroyed the gym and killed eight people.
The owners of the gym said they were shocked by the loss of life and were working on repairing the damaged floors.
The owner, who asked not to be identified, said the fire was sparked when the fire department took down the building’s sprinkler system.
